Poor MCAT score (29), but still have chance with 3.9 GPA?

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I just wanted to see if I even have any chance for Queen's. Queen's was always a dream school of mine since I loved Anne of Green Gables. BUT I really have crappy MCAT score of VR 8, PS 12, BS 9 :( My GPA is pretty good though with cGPA and 2-year GPA of both 3.9. I did lots of extracurriculars. I noticed that Queen's mainly only look at GPA and MCAT though... Is it worth $400 to apply with my crappy MCAT score?

Also, with the stat I told you, do I have chance in any other school in Canada (I'm BC resident)?

Thanks in advance!

For starters Ottawa springs to mind - they don't consider the MCAT and you look like you are above the GPA cut off.

MCAT - quite the pain. Rewriting is common, and something you should probably consider doing to max out your longer term prospects. The good news is you can actually improve upon it.
