orangepeels
Does western give interviews to people who have one year that meets their cutoffs but the rest don't? Last year I had a GPA of 3.93 and the year before that it was 3.69. I heard from some people that there have been cases where you are invited to an interview based solely on the one good year and accepted on the condition that you achieve a gpa of 3.7+ in the current year of studies. Is this true?
MD2015
Yes, conditional acceptance is possible. You would have to met their MCAT cut-off, which I believe, is not known yet.
brinehog
Yes, this happened to me. I had only one year that met their requirements and I received an interview and then an acceptance conditional on meeting the requirements (3.7, full courseload, 3/5 courses at 3rd year level or above). gottawannit
hmmm this is interesting...I'm OOP and had pretty garbage marks until last year (3.0, 3.3, 3.5, then all of a sudden 3.94) and I"m going for the 5th year victory lap. Anyone have any idea how I'm looking for the MCAT cutoffs? ps/vr/bs 11/11/10 and 12/10/

Anyone have any idea how I'm looking for the MCAT cutoffs? ps/vr/bs 11/11/10 and 12/10/10 I'm afraid you would not make the cutoffs. Since you're OOP, you would have Non-SWOMEN status. That means you'd probably have to have at least a 9PS/11VR/12BS in order to get an interview, based on last cycle's cutoffs. The MCAT cut-offs are not pre-determined; they are decided only when the school reviews its applicants. This means that the cutoffs MIGHT change for this year, but in my opinion it is unlikely that the BS would drop back down to a 10.
