Deadline To Create Omsas Account

Hey guys,

 

For those applying this year to Ontario medical schools, please don't forget to create your OMSAS account! Rmorelan usually makes a post about this, but I haven't seen it yet so I'm making it instead. Every year there's always a few people who forget to make their accounts before the deadline, and then they're forced to wait another year. Seems silly, no?

 

From the OMSAS site:

 

All applications must be started (accounts created) before September 15, 2014 at 4:30 p.m. ET.

It should also be noted that if you downloaded the CAF file for a reference and for some reason that reference can no longer endorse your application then you need to create a new account as you cannot change reference info after you have downloaded the CAF.

ha you are right I usually do Actually had an alarm to do that today on the site!

 

It is silly, but is also so devastating.  I have seen this happen to be at least 10 people over the years - don't let it happen to you!

I know a guy who missed the deadline and is now in Dentistry. Makes me wonder sometimes what trajectory his life would have taken if he'd remembered to make an account by the stated date....
