MathToMed Posted September 26, 2014 Report Share Posted September 26, 2014 Someone I know had 14-9-14, 3.98, and still didn't get in and he said it is because of the 9 in VR which made me freak out a little At UofT, anecdotally (upon analysing the acceptance stats thread), a 9 in VR wouldn't hurt your chances of acceptance any more than a 14, and a 3.98 wouldn't be enough to save a bad application. It's more likely the case that the adcom for UofT found either a flaw in their essays, or ABS that they couldn't overlook. Of course your friend, who has no idea what the adcom was thinking, spotted the more obvious "flaw" and incorrectly attributed it to that.
