shadow_knight
Has anyone come across this article before- http://www.kevinmd.com/blog/2013/04/separates-doctors-nurses.html I am curious that sure in hospitals and practice, doctors and nurse have to work collaboratively to deliver effect care and take on defined roles and responsibilities, but is a Nurse Practitioner with equivalent experience in the health care industry a substitute for a physician, unless in certain circumstance e.g. to cover for doctor unavailability in rural areas or tighter hospital budgets? Is the more money spent in training and specialized education really only for treatment of some specific cases, but apart from that the boundary between NP and MD in terms of competence and knowledge is being blurred because of expanded nurse roles and independence of practice?
