# Interviews

Recommended Posts

They interviewed 65 NB students this year, i believe that is similar to what they have in previous years. I think they had around 110 NB applicants in total. I'm not sure about PEI though i have never seen their numbers.

65?! holy thats a lot more than I thought...well I feel like my chances just went down significantly. How do you know this?

65 were definitely not offered an interview. they have about 70 applicants per year and they ask about 40 to 30 for an interview. Stats are readily available. Here is a document with some other interesting stats. in general for med school!

I've read that document before, but it doesn't actually say how many NB applicants are invited for an interview, so isn't it still quite possible they actually did interview 65?

Yeah it only says that they interviewed 104 other Canadian residents (which includes NB, PEI, Yukon, and other OOP)

Instead of guessing how many were offered an interview i asked admissions, they said they were interviewing 65 NB students. So i have nothing to argue with other than that is what i was told which i took to be a pretty good and reliable source of information. It would actually make perfect sense if they of the 104 Canadian residents that 65 of them were from NB given the proximity to the school and seat distribution.

So if there were 104 people interviewed for the 18 seats that don’t go to NL residents a proportional distribution of the seats would be 57 NB interviews, which lines up perfectly with what admissions had said.
