thisguyhere
Does anyone know how many NB applicants were actually interviewed this year?
mmmun12
I would also love to know this. I tried calculating, just from people I knew there, and got around 11. So I added probably like 25 others I didn't know. But people usually say around 30-40 I guess?
MedicineKid
It is usually around 30 people interviewed from NB every year
xcon2run
What about PEI? Anyone know specifics? I heard around ~35 per year
Birdy
What about PEI? Anyone know specifics? I heard around ~35 per year About 35 apply. They interviewed 22 last cycle. greendoc
They interviewed 65 NB students this year, i believe that is similar to what they have in previous years. I think they had around 110 NB applicants in total. I'm not sure about PEI though i have never seen their numbers.

greendoc
I just asked admissions, they release the information on how many students they interview from each pool every year.
greendoc
I should add, don't let that make you feel your chances are any less, a change in the statistics doesn't change your strengths as an applicant!

premedUNB14
65 were definitely not offered an interview. they have about 70 applicants per year and they ask about 40 to 30 for an interview. Stats are readily available. Here is a document with some other interesting stats. in general for med school! http://www.afmc.ca/pdf/ADMISSION_REQUIREMENTS_EN.pdf

Yeah it only says that they interviewed 104 other Canadian residents (which includes NB, PEI, Yukon, and other OOP)
Med30s
Not sure if there's a concrete reference for this somewhere but I've heard they generally interview 3 applicants per seat. If NB has 10 seats they likely interview 30-40.
Fleming
Any guesses on how many OOP applicants received interviews?
greendoc
Instead of guessing how many were offered an interview i asked admissions, they said they were interviewing 65 NB students. So i have nothing to argue with other than that is what i was told which i took to be a pretty good and reliable source of information. It would actually make perfect sense if they of the 104 Canadian residents that 65 of them were from NB given the proximity to the school and seat distribution. 65 were definitely not offered an interview. they have about 70 applicants per year and they ask about 40 to 30 for an interview. Stats are readily available. Here is a document with some other interesting stats. in general for med school! http://www.afmc.ca/pdf/ADMISSION_REQUIREMENTS_EN.pdf So if there were 104 people interviewed for the 18 seats that don’t go to NL residents a proportional distribution of the seats would be 57 NB interviews, which lines up perfectly with what admissions had said.
