U Of S Post Interview

Recommended Posts

Hey guys, without discussing particular questions or scenarios, I was wondering how those who interviewed at Sask this past weekend found it. I personally thought that there was a lot of very challenging critical thinking scenarios and not a lot of ethical dilemmas. Interested to hear what you all thought!

I wish they gave us a specific date. UBC released their results within 2 weeks from what I'm hearing, so it makes me feel like UofS can release it any time as well.

for sure that'd be great but i won't start worrying about it too much until april 1st or so. i'll admit though i am a little anxious. I heard that the number of applicants (in province at least) this year was way down b/c they changed from 2-year requirement to 3-years.

Im not applying until this winter, so I could be wrong, but I was under the impression that applicants for the 2015-2016 cycle were not affected by the change from 2 to 3 years of full time course work?

I'm pretty certain that change took effect this year

Yeah, the new requirements kicked in this year, (you had to have the physiology prereq, for example). The college's request for the completion of an undergrad degree before applying doesn't factor in to this year's cycle.

do you know if the 4-year requirement kicks in next year? I heard it's it does but that may just be rumour

I was under the assumption that they have to give a year notice for this four year degree change. So I would think that people applying this upcoming winter would be exempt from the 4 year degree change. But Im not exactly sure.

I believe if they decide to do it, they don't have to give us a full year for the changes. It obviously won't effect the people who have already applied for the 2015 cycle, but if they change it, the new requirements could come into play for the applications for the 2016 cycle.

I was emailing back and forth with an advisor in dentistry about this a while ago, and she did say that they have to give us a year notice for this change, if they go through with it. However, what I'm not sure about is whether the year notice means from the time they updated the website saying that there were 'considering changing' or if it means one year after they actually implement it and change the requirements.

Im hoping that they include some of the same things that medicine has included with regard to how much time is acceptable, under certain conditions, to have completed that four year degree... Anyone have any insight on that?
