TheApiarist
So I've noticed an interesting question on UofC Amissions Blog. It hasn't been answered yet, but in case someone on here knows anything about this: Is it true that application viewers would not be able to see who wrote the reference letter, to eliminate the risk of ‘prestige’ outweighing merit? itsalwayssunny
That is true. Buuuut, one would assume that the admissions committee does see the information as to "why I chose this person as a reference". One can imagine that this would allude to the referee's role, but not their exact identity (e.g. former research supervisor, not "Dr. X winner of the Nobel Prize". I'm going to go ahead and piggyback onto this with an additional question- which sections of UCAN are/are not actually seen by the time the app gets to the evaluators? For example, I noticed from a former saved application that a specific section highlighting the details of a variable work commitment wasn't on there, even though it was saved to UCAN.
