Guest Victoria
Hi-- any advice for older students considering applying to medicine? I graduated in '92 with a BScOT, but with fairly average marks. My GPA is about 3.3 if I recall, I'm waiting to get another copy. I've been working for 10 years as a licensed OT and am preparing to write the MCAT. I'm 31. If I do reasonably on the MCAT, should I be doing anything else? Advice? Guest lorax
Hi, I don't know if I really have advice as who knows what they are really looking for sometimes . I'm also 31 and received my acceptance letter a little over a week ago. My GPA wasn't that great when I finished my BSc but I did go on to do an MSc in pop'n genetics. My MCAT marks were also a lot better than when I wrote in '91. 9's and a Q for writing. I heard Dal does look for good writing skills. Even though its hard to do would highly recommend practising your writing skills before the MCAT. It does help to stick to their formula. It seems to me that the interview was quite important. Good-luck
