Who Here Was Published Before Going Into Med School?

Recommended Posts

It can only help. It's an impressive achievement and I'm sure admissions will look favorably on your publication. I'm sure different universities value it more than others.

If it's a closed file interview, then it is only revealed when you bring it up yourself. If it is open file, I'm sure they will ask.

Depends where you apply.

Good luck!

It should be helpful, as long as you can speak somewhat in depth about it. If they do happen to bring it up in the interview and it's evident that you didn't learn anything from your time there, or were really lazy and only did it just for a line on your CV, then that could actually be detrimental. Hopefully anyone in the second category would be filtered out by the research supervisor but who knows.
