asquamosa
Do any canadian schools consider previous MCAT scores in any way? I know they say they look at the most recent or the best score, but if they see all previous scores, do they consider them at all? The reason I ask is because I'm not very prepared for my upcoming August MCAT but I would like to take it and have it scored as practice. But if it would impede my chances, then I won't have it scored. Apologies if this has already been asked, I couldn't find it when doing a forum search. medhopeful25
Yes! They have access to your old scores! When I applied last year! Both scores were uploaded to my account. I don't think they will judge you based on how many times you take the MCAT (unless you have taken it more than 4 or 5 times).
asquamosa
Yes. But do they consider the scores of the previous MCATs written in any way?
medhopeful25
They have to look at all your scores as some schools consider your most recent take, while some look at your BEST score.
The 8th Hokage
I think what asquamosa is asking is whether poor MCAT attempts affect your pre-interview score for Canadian med schools. Like would they see a difference in someone who scored a 518 the first time through or a 518 the third time through.

Hoping to get some clarity around this
Bcemslayer
The schools I know of don't subjectively review MCAT scores. They either take an average or the best score, and assign it some standardized numerical value.
The 8th Hokage
So in the case of Canadian med schools, they either take the best score or the most recent score, where previous scores would not be looked at (unless its the best score). JohnGrisham
UBC looks at MCAT post interview. While they dont say they look at how many times you took it etc, who knows what happens during their "holistic review". I'd say taking it 1-3 times shouldn't trigger any alarms. But if you take it 4+ times in a short period of time...I know for me at least it would trigger some thoughts. But I'm not an adcom
