Hyperion_Cal
Hi, I did a program in my first year summer at another Canadian university, called J'Explore. It was a 6 unit (equivalent to full year course) over 5 weeks, but I never had it transferred as a credit to my main institution. Do I have to have this included on OMSAS? If so, what's the best way of listing it? Thanks
Lifeisawesome
Yes, I would say you have to include all postsecondary education you received on your OMSAS application. From OMSAS's website they say: "Record all postsecondary institutions at which you have registered. This includes the following: community colleges/CEGEPs; universities; junior colleges; graduate schools; and work taken on Letter of Permission, on transfer or on an exchange program." You would list it like you would your other university. The start date, finish date, and the name of university. I think you also have to enter the # of credits and the course names (I can't remember exactly). You will also have to send the transcript. If you enter anything incorrectly, they will fix the mistake for you, as long as they have your transcript.
astb
I too did J'explore (I was in high school though when I participated) and I never had the credits transferred over so they were not part of my degree. When I e-mailed OMSAS about it in 2014 they said that if neither course was a prerequisite for medical school I did not have to submit a transcript. Therefore I did not include the marks but did include J'Explore as part of my ABS in formal education. I did the same thing last year when I applied. I don't know if that is still their stance though.
