My mother has a nice little house for rent in Ottawa. Here are the details:

- 3 bedroom (2 small on main floor, one larger on top floor), 2 1/2 bathroom, plus finished basement.

- electric stove, gas heat, washing machine and dryer, central vacuum (no carrying the vacuum cleaner up and down stairs!), air conditioning, whole-house water filter

- nice little garden and 1-car garage

- wonderful quiet neighbourhood; house is directly across the street from a park with the Rideau River on the other side of the park. Great for running, paddling, skiing on the river in winter. Health food store, convenience store and vegetarian restaurant are 10 min. walk away. Supermarket is on the bus line (5 min. walk to bus stop).

- unfurnished

- $1600/month rent plus utilities (gas and hydro)

 

The house is on Onslow Cres. in Ottawa South, which is just across the river from Riverside, and only a short distance from Smyth Road (excellent bus access too). If I were going to Ottawa U, this is the house I would be living in!
