member_225 Posted April 12, 2017 Report Share Posted April 12, 2017 À l'Université Laval, j'ai de la misère à comprendre comment l'admission est basée 50% sur les notes scolaires et 50% sur l'entrevue, si l'entrevue est sur 600 points et la cote est théoriquement sur 40 (ou 50?). Par example, une personne peut se démarquer au maximum de (40-33.5)*0,5 = 3.25 points s'il a une cote r de 40 versus un 33.5. Aux MEM's une personne peut avoir 500 vs 550, ce qui est une différence de (550-500)*0,5 = 25 points. Une personne peut donc beaucoup plus facilement se démarquer aux MEM's qu'avec sa cote r? J'ai aussi entendu parler de convertir la note de CRC sur 50 et les MEM's sur 50, ensuite donner une note finale sur 100. Par exemple: 33,5 de CRC devient 41,9/50 500 aux MEM devient 41,7/50 Note finale: 83,6/100. De cette manière, ça serait véritablement 50/50 CRC/MEM. Sinon, la cote R ne veut absolument rien dire si on est par dessus de la cote minimale et tout se déroule aux MEM's....Est-ce que j'ai raison? Merci de me corriger. J'ai essayé de retrouver cette information en ligne mais je ne crois pas que l'université Laval a publiée cette information. Avez vous une source? I truly don't believe it's 50/50 Yeah I don't know about Laval's policies or whether those will be called to change this year given the difference in evaluation (MMI vs Casper). That being said, keep in mind that a significant proportion of schools weigh interviews more than GPA at post-interview stage. This is because it's assumed that you are academically skilled enough to have been selected for the interview, and therefore giving more of a chance to select based on the personality skills. Ah, well if they wrote it it must be true. And it does make sense, however. McGill for instance does 80% interview, 20% pre-reqs. GPA doesn't even count anymore at that point.
