Mr.otter
Here are my stats for my uOttawa application: Location: OOP (Quebec) Stream: French GPA: 4.0 Research: Summer internship with CRSNG scholarship in gyneco-oncology. Education: Second year university with CEGEP diploma. What are my chances to get an interview?
ThatMedGyal
Obviously you meet the GPA cut-off for the french stream (GPA = 3.7). Assuming you do well at the CASPer (you reason well and quickly your thoughts on each situation), you have a nearly guaranteed chance at an interview. This is of course, if they keep the 50% CASPer, 50% GPA formula for the 2017-2018 application cycle.
Mr.otter
All right, And does anyone know when the interview invites are released?

Donald_Duck
The cutoff for the whole french stream is actually 3.7 regardless of geographic location. Also, keep in mind that you have to meet the cutoff for casper. Do not neglect it, although you do not have to perform as well as others you still have to do decently. Practice your typing in french and timing and you should be fine. Mr Duck

Donald_Duck
3.5 is a general cutoff. You have to email the admissions office to have the cutoff of your specific stream. Mr Duck
Mr.otter
I was told that the cut of for OOP French stream last year was 3.87/4.00.
Donald_Duck
OOP french stream, are you referring to CNFS (Outside Ontario/Quebec) or are you talking about a Quebec resident applying to the french stream? The 2 scenarios were different in previous years. Mr Duck
Donald_Duck
I got informed that now for the French stream the 3.7 cutoff only applied to outaouis region, the rest of Quebec is at the OOP cutoff of 3.87. Mr Duck
Donald_Duck
CNFS is French speaking from outside Ontario and Quebec, still at the 3.6 if I remember correctly. Mr Duck
Doctorofmydreams
Is Ontario Franco stream cut-off 3.6? Have 3.8 and wondering if I should apply (French immersion, uni-level french courses, french exchange, living in QC now but not resident since its only been little while). Donald_Duck
You'll have to ask the admissions department, you'll probably be placed in the French stream cutoff similar if you are from Ottawa, meaning 3.7; but double check in case.
