Letter to the Editor Essay Formating

For the letter to the editor essay, do you guys know how much of formatting we are supposed to have in it?

Features like name, address, phone, email, date, name of publication...

You have 250 words. Use your judgment and keep in mind when you copy and paste into OMSAS all the formatting will be lost. Don't waste words on trivial things in my opinion. Content is more important.

Do not write too much (approx 250 words is good enough since editors do not tend to read long letters) and at the end of the letter, type your name and address. that's' it.

Would it be appropriate to have stats in a letter to the editor? And then if I do add stats, would it be appropriate to have references like "(WHO, 2015)" in the letter?

Honestly, I did not really care for formalities just because of the limited space. Wouldnt they just assume those things?

Just write the essay. Don't worry about small things like 'dear editor' or 'sincerely'.

Do not write your name and address at the end. A waste of the precious word count!! And isn't the point that they don't know your identity? They evaluate the BPEs independently of the rest of your application. I highly doubt they expect a full out formatted letter to the editor. 

@letsgo The UofT med blog says you can use references and if you do then yes cite them the way you indicated.

you only have 250 words! why bother with signing your name or even adding your address to the response.  If i was assessing an essay those would be distracting.
