la marzocco
(1) As an OOP student at a Canadian medical school, how hard is it to match back to a school in one's home province? Particularly, for a competitive specialty? Obviously, a large proportion of students end up matching to a residency program at the school of their studies just by nature of context and building connections. Aside from doing electives at schools back at my home province, what else can be done? Is it worth it to do observerships during end of first year in my home province? (2) Given the weird CEQ contract that OOP students have to sign at Quebec med schools, is one disadvantaged when also applying to Quebec residency programs? Lactic Folly
It's probably no harder than matching into that competitive specialty in general. Be a strong candidate those programs would want to recruit no matter where you're from.
