Updating schools about an accepted publication

I'm an applicant for the 2017-2018 cycle, and I found out this week that a paper that I had co-authored was accepted. On my applications, I had put that the manuscript was under review, which it was at the time.

Is it possible to update schools about this?

Alternatively, should I simply leave it as is and bring it up in interviews should they occur?

If this is for Canadian schools, I wouldn't bother. Updates aren't routinely considered for Canadian applications and so they would not generally update your file with this new information. Additionally, while having a paper accepted is a notable accomplishment, the difference between a submitted and accepted paper isn't likely to impact your application's chances. US schools, on the other hand, often expect updates and do consider them.
