nosm_d
Im working through the KAPLAN complete 7 book set. There is one book on physics and math, but I have heard from other students that the MCAT covers very little material on these subjects. How much time should I dedicate to physics & math as compared to critical reasoning, behavioural sciences, bio, organic chemistry, etc? Did you review physics and math for the exam, or am I wasting my time? THANK-YOU!
pelican37
For math, you have to learn how to do calculations without using a calculator. Basically learning how to quickly estimate values and do dimensional analysis. Answers might be like 0.01g, 10g, 1000g, etc... For physics, yes of course spend time on it. You will have to memorize all of the formulas on the Kaplan quick sheets (pretty helpful for review). Beyond that, it is very important to do lots of practice problems because the MCAT physics (primarily passage based) is nothing like undergrad courses and often incorporates biology/chemistry as well in the passage. buttercream
I wrote my MCAT this past summer and it was VERY physics-heavy so you will definitely want to spend time on it.
