Mattmurdoch
I have taken the mcat 3 times and did horrible the first 2 times with scores of 497 and 502 (mostly due to personal reasons lol and lack of prep). Anyways, my most recent mcat score was 516 (129/130/129/128). Will my first two scores hurt my chances at the Canadian Med Schools? I'm ip for Alberta. I know UofC has a pretty subjective assessment, so i'm sure it is going to hurt there... when admissions sees two terrible score. I'm just not sure about the other schools like UofA and schools in Ontario. I think i may be okay for western, but I'd love to know if have more than one realistic chance (eg. uofa, uoft, mac) My cGPA is 3.73, Uoft gpa is 3.85 and 2yGPA is 3.90 and ECs are average below average/average at best. 4th year graduating in 2018. Eudaimonia
That's a great improvement! I'm glad you were able to perform to your potential. I don't think it will be an issue for schools. I've forgotten the specifics and you can look up how each school regards multiple MCATs, but I remember most consider either your most recent score or your best score. For example, UofT only cares that you scored above the cutoff for each section (125) and then don't consider your MCAT in further assessment. bearded frog
Generally Canadian schools only look at most recent MCAT. Some American schools average them though...
