Deb Matthews isn't running again, Liz Sandals isn't running, and now Hoskins is looking for a nice safe landing spot is dedicating himself to a higher purpose (that by happy coincidence doesn't involve facing the electorate this year).

On the other hand, the leading opposition party keeps finding new and creative ways to self immolate.

So who knows what will happen.

Doesn't look like they plan to make it universal - http://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/morneau-budget-2018-pharmacare-1.4555186

We'll probably see details on how they hope to implement next year, when the Liberals inevitably make it one of their campaign planks for re-election.

From what I've heard, the OLP didn't even know he was jumping ship until it happened. I can definitely see it as a good step up for him if it ends up leading to Canada's first national pharmacare program.

Hoskins is pretty well known as an arrogant ass though, so I'm slightly annoyed he'll get the opportunity.

People seem to complain about Hoskin, and I agree there are parts of his actions as health minister that I don't agree with.

At least he's stepping up to create a national pharmacare program and not stepping up to privatize healthcare.
