hopefuldentist22
Hey! So I have been shadowing a recent 2016 UBC Grad. She now works in an office in my hometown, but before she came back home she told me right after she graduated she went up north to practice. She really recommended me to consider it because you generally get better pay, and she told me she got to do way more procedures up north than working at a Dental office in Vancouver (which she was also doing at the time - 2 weeks in Vancouver, 2 weeks up north). She also didn't get paid as much in Vancouver and see as much patients due to the over saturation of Dentists. Consider going up north
Ostracized
The big cities (certainly Toronto and Vancouver) are way over saturated. The more remote and less desirable the community - the better your prospects will be.
BScDMD
Like the other users said, depends on where you are. I found that I had plenty to choose from in MB and Sask. Didn't look in the bigger cities, but if you're interested in better pay and exposure to a broader range of procedures there's a lot of work in rural areas.
