Curriculum description

Recommended Posts

To current med students or applicants who have already interviewed,

I know the curriculum has changed a bit at UofT recently, and that they should give us more info about it during our interview day. However I'm anxious to know more about the new program sooner than later. What is the new structure and the changes made? What does a typical day look like? Does UofT use CBL/PBL and how often? What is the exam schedule like? Are there any mandatory shadowing/electives during preclerkship and when do they occur? How well do you get to know the rest of your classmates, being such a large size? How common and feasible is doing research?

I'd appreciate anything on your experiences at UofT! Thank you :)

Thank you, UofT has tried to answer many of my questions but I'm also interested in hearing from current med students. For example how they feel about the more frequent testing over block exams; how do they like the free day and how to take advantage of it; what they like/dislike about the curriculum

You'll have lots of time to mingle with 1st year UofT med students on the day of your interview, they're very friendly :)

You will have ample opportunity to discuss these points at the interview, just come prepared with your questions. The students all seemed very happy and successful with the curriculum, for what it's worth. Also, the curriculum is in its second year already.

Enjoy your interview day!
