Prolene
Hey everyone, My DAT is this Saturday and I have a question for those who did score high for soap carving. How many soaps did you carve and how did you prepare? And Is it true the soap on the DAT will be different than what we buy from the kit? Thanks a ton!! IllIIlIlIIIlIIIl
Hey, I did around 10 soaps, bought 2 packages of 6 and didn't get to finish them. I ended up getting a 27 on the MDT. I wrote the November 2018 DAT so its still fresh in my head. The soap that you buy from the CDA store is dried and crumbly. When you cut into them, it feels as if parts just slough off from the age of the soap. On your official DAT exam, you'll be receiving soap that carves like BUTTER!! When you cut into it, it'll feel smooth, one solid motion will cut the soap smoothly. In addition to that, detailing your soap is much easier because of how smooth and easy it is to carve the soap. Feel free to message me privately if you want anymore answers.
