Guest miracle
Hi, I am just completing my supplemental essays for a few US schools. When they ask such questions like " Why are you interested in XXX School of Medicine?", should we focus more on the school's specific characteristics? In other words, exactly how much are we expected to include personal info and continue to sell ourselves? Your help is greatly appreciated! Guest Kirsteen
Hi there, A happy and effective medium might be to highlight features of the school and tie those to your interests and/or strengths. For example, if you are keen on research, and the school has a strong research program or resources, then you can link the two in your supplementary essay. Cheers, Kirsteen
Guest miracle
Thanks Kirsteen! I'm looking at schools that are more oriented around primary care. The same logic would apply though...I"ll try to identify some 'core' characteristics of the school and tie them in with personal experience.
