Guest bad boy buddhist
ATTENTION CANADIAN MEDICAL STUDENTS! Do you feel passionately about Canada's publicly-funded Medicare system? Do you believe that physicians have a role to play in strengthening it? Are you a committed volunteer? If so, please consider applying to be a Student Board Member of Canadian Doctors for Medicare (CDM)! CDM is a national physician organization composed of doctors who believe that a responsive, sustainable publicly funded healthcare system exists as the highest expression of Canadians caring for one another. The mission of CDM is to provide a voice for Canadian doctors who believe in and support Canada's publicly funded system for physician and hospital care, and who reject private insurance and direct payment for these medically necessary services. Our board meets by teleconference approximately once per month, and communicates by email frequently. We will be meeting next in Charlottetown, PEI August 20-21st. Our focus is on advocating for the preservation and strengthening of medicare, and on educating fellow physicians and the public on the realities of 2-tiered healthcare. Please visit our website at http://www.canadiandoctorsformedicare.ca to learn more about CDM. If you are interested in applying, send an email describing your interest in the issue and your reasons for applying, along with your cv, to Dr. Danielle Martin, CDM Board Chair, at danielle1martin@hotmail.com by July 21st, 2006. We hope to hear from you soon!
Guest UWOugrad
The problem is the way the CDM talks about canadians 'caring for one another' and all that sappy crappola... your not fighting nazis here, you're trying to turn heads of politicians - not activists - so use a hardline approach... Why? your approach will land u a huge chunk of the family docs/peds in canada - why? they are women and emotional, they eat that caring shi.t up like its their job. you wanna get the surgeons, derms, business ppl and politicians? whether men or women, they want straight shyte, not bullshyte which is all i see in ur CDM I'm all for medicare, but you're perpetuating the soft, sensitive stereotype that hinders the pro-medicare advocate in the real world peace fockers
