tallguy81
Hi, Can someone tell me the definitions or difference between the: 1) Notochord 2) Pharangeal Pouches 3) Brachial Arches 4) Dorsal Nerve Cord Also, how they relate to their embryological development (ie. inductive effects of ... from ...)? Thanks for any help.
Pantaloons
I'd say with pretty good confidence that that information is not crucial or important for the MCAT. If that stuff does appear on the MCAT, I'm pretty sure that it would be given in the passage as context for the questions. Other posters can verify this. I'd concentrate more on the Genetics, Endocrine system, etc. As for embryological development: All Nervous tissue is derived from Ectoderm (dorsal nerve cord) The respiratory tract lining comes from Endoderm. I'm not sure if that's relevant to pharngeal puches and brachial arches.
