the_samrat
Hey Everyone, I'm a bit struck with the dilemma on whether I should retake MCAT or not. My GPA will not give me a chance @ McMaster, so I do rely on my MCAT to help me a bit I scored 29S on my MCAT (11 BS, 9 VR, 9 PS) My cGPA for UofT (based on their 4 lowest marks being dropped) is 3.75. For UWO & Queens (last two years/best two years), my GPA is 3.82 For Ottawa (based on my last 3 years), my GPA stands around 3.78. I am thinking about re-writing my MCAT (on sept. 6th) to push my score to at least 33 (11 on each section). What do you guys think? Its a bit of gamble for me because I will be quite busy with my Research presentation and summer thesis till Aug 24th, which means I will barely have 2 weeks to study for the exam. Thanks people, your inputs are of tremendous help to me.
Guest begaster
You should, but you need to prioritize it above everything else. Your MCAT is too low for Western, possibly too low for Queen's (depending on their cutoffs next year). You have basically zero chance at U of T with that GPA. Same with Ottawa and Mac. Don't rewrite with only two weeks.
In_Valid
agreed. Two weeks isn't nearly enough, unless you are a genius.
Jamer
Unless you got that 29S without studying, 2 weeks won't help
the_samrat
thanks for your replies. If I start reviewing from now, and focus on EK VR 101 passages, I should roughly have 3 weeks to study for. Since I have written my MCAT on July 10th, Most of the material are still fresh to me. Is 3 weeks not enough for reviewing? I know its a gamble but I'm really hoping its worth it. thanks
The Law
You know yourself best. I personally would not feel prepared for the exam after a one month hiatus.

chris
I"m a little confused..why is a 3.75 for UT= zero chance? And a gpa too low for mac? how is that if you have a great overall gpa?
Albertan10
^same here, what would be competitive for UofT and Mac then?
Jamer
A 3.75 isn't uncompetitive, necessarily, but the average U of T weighted GPA admitted is ~3.9 and I think Mac is close to that too.
