HorizonXP
My stats are in the subject. Electrical Engineer from Waterloo. Just wrote MCAT, 33S. About a 3.7 GPA. Want to apply to US schools, and I'm wondering which ones I should apply to right now. Thanks!
Dayne67
It may be too little late to apply now. Have you submitted your primary application at least? If not, then I would recommend applying next cycle. You would have a good chance at low-mid tiers like Wayne State, Rosalind Franklin, Saint Louis, NYMC, SUNY Upstate, etc.
mca
If you apply early next cycle, you should be fine. And don't limit yourself to schools like RFU and Wayne State. Assuming you have good ECs, a 3.7 and a 33s will keep the door open to more competitive schools.
a41
Not to be a downer, but your stats are similar to most of the Canadian students here at Wayne.
Alastriss
I don't find that hard to believe, it's a state school so you need to be a little more qualified, while for private schools you can get away with being on par as there are no preferences but they often have higher MCAT averages anyways. I think you should keep your options open like MCA said, but I wouldn't get your hopes up just yet is what a41 is likely trying to say.
mca
I was just saying that the OP shouldn't be afriad to apply to some higher ranked schools if he/she wanted to. I have similar stats and have gotten interview invites from some of my 'reach' schools. It doesn't hurt to try, and you can sometimes be surprised by the results. Alastriss
that's actually one thing I regret, applying to more reach schools. I am still pondering submitting my secondary to Yale, its a reach but I'd be happier with a rejection than not submitting at all.
mca
I'd say go for it then. Especially if Yale doesn't do rolling admissions.
