joshto
For those who have applied this cycle, was your LizzyM score a good indicator of what to expect?
n00b
um what was it again and what exactly does a particular score "expect"?
ChicoMaki
Well, it was developed by someone at SDN and is supposed to give you a good indicator of your chances at interviews (based only on MCAT and GPA). I've attached a copy. School_Selector_0910.zip
token
GPA*10 + MCAT For me it was obviously useless. Scores like this can give you an idea, but you really need to look at your application qualitatively to determine if you're competitive. With the LizzyM specifically, I think it far over-estimates the importance of GPA. A 3.7/35 will do better than a 4.0/32. Especially if the 4.0 is from a Canadian school. Alastriss
The LizzyM score is useless. I got rejected from all the low tier schools I applied to, so it isn't nearly as important as we think.
n00b
they're just afraid you were using them as a backup!
flamesfan
i agree with token actually. the mcat is weighted much more heavily in the states which has yielded the score somewhat useless in any prediction.
Alastriss
I am not sure if i agree that the mcat is weighted more heavily. I feel that for me, the mcat - gpa importance was too much in favor of the mcat on these boards. GPA was substantially underestimated I feel, but then again I think that the experiences may have been specific to me only. Just pretend like they both equally matter and work hard for both of them. I think just as big as MCAT and GPA is your essay and your works and activities. So make sure those are strong as well.
