What's the deal with Canadian Applicants?

Hey guys,

 

Just wondering, do American med schools hold Canadians up to higher standards in their admissions processes? In other words, are Canadians expected to have higher stats than the average for a school if they want in? A lot of people say yes, and then a lot of people say no. How can I be certain? What's your opinion?

I've typically heard that they hold us Canadians to higher standards. You should still try though, within reason - because at least the US doesn't use the strict cut-off system that Ontario schools do.
