MCAT45
Hello everyone, I went to U of Manitoba, and lab components are integrated into the course and does not show up on transcript. HOWEVER, my GPA would be much higher if AMCAS count every single of my courses as either 3 or 6 credit hours, rather than giving my lab component courses 4 or 8 credit hours respectively since I did not do well on alot of lab integrated courses. Does anyone have any insight into this? I hear that some people say AMCAS do not automatically bump my lab-courses from 3/6 credit hours to 4/8 credit hours anyways, while some say they do... Your help is greatly appreciated!
The Law
AMCAS didn't give my lab courses extra credit hours. Not sure if it'll be an issue with you.
Rach
AMCAS didn't give my lab courses extra credit hours. Not sure if it'll be an issue with you. Last year, AMCAS did give my lab courses more weight, so I guess it's hit and miss. Either way you'll just have to wait and see, nothing much you can do about it. MCAT45
Did your courses actually say on the transcript that it has a lab? For example, does yours say Organic chem + lab? Because for mine, it does not say on the transcript it has a lab or not, its just organic chemistry. I wonder how AMCAS can verify any of this without getting a hold of a course catalogue..
