Consequences of going American?

Hi ladies and gents,

 

As a Canadian student I was just wondering the consequences of attending an American school as the Ontario ones are very competitive to get into.

 

Other than the increased costs of course, what would I have to worry about? I hope to specialize so I can be someone who ideally works at the hospital - likely something along the lines of radiology to fit in with my physics background.
