shin
Hi. I just had a quick question about the mcat. Are there always 7 passages in each section? I'm trying to improve on my timing, especially for the verbal section. Has any of you ever encountered more (or less) than 7 passages? I guess this is most important in the verbal section than any other. Thanks
Dr.Henderson
Every practice test I've taken has had 7 verbal passages.
kawalac
I did a practice test where the bio section had 8 passages but one of the passages had only one question.
manduki
My last MCAT Physics had 8 sections! But one passage only had one question.
shin
cool. thanks for all the responses and all the info. So is there a consensus about verbal then? Are only ever 7 passages?
benhc911
verbal is only ever 7... it used to be 9 but then they shortened it and the time they give you. The other sections are not as definite in passage number, but rather have a set number of questions, and a moderate number of passages associated. And as for time, I didn't have any time problems on any section when I wrote it... some sections I had enough time to double check my uncertain answers and to advance to the next section with time left... although verbal was probably the closest to being a problem... I didn't really have time to double check all of the uncertain answers (and it was the section I did worst in *shrug*). all the best
