keepontruckin
I'm looking to apply to American schools for 2012 entry and I've been looking through MSAR to determine prerequisites I need in order to be considered eligible to apply to certain schools. I came across schools that require a certain number of "semester hours" in different subject areas. I'm wondering how the conversion from credits to semester hours works

I'm wondering how the conversion from credits to semester hours works The others on here who are going through the process may have more updated information but when I did my AMCAS: 1 lecture hr = 1 semester hr 1.5 lab/tutorial hr = 1 semester hr for a half year gen chem course with 3 lecture hours a week and 3 lab hours, this would get converted to 3 + 1.5 = 4.5 semester hrs.
