ladeeda
In the application manual http://www.ucalgary.ca/mdprogram/files/mdprogram/Applican%20Manual%202010_2011.pdf there are 2 ways of calculating GPA for calgary--one using letter grades and the other using percent grades. which method do you use if you have both letters and percentages on your transcripts? thanks:) also, are you ranked on only your 2 best years gpa or cGPA? tnfifn
Precentage grade. There is no such thing as ranking. Calgary does a subject review of your entire record and assigns a mark out of /50.
flytotheblue
If the OP is non-Albertan, then the candidates are in fact ranked with a complicated formula and top 200-250 are invited for an interview, according to the application manual. And yes, the manual says the best 2 years are averaged.
Asta
Best two years for IP and/or the OOP calculation are used to determine if there is a full file review. If there is a full file review, the complete record is examined and a score is given (as tnfifn says). The score is subjective but certain things are looked for, such as trends, full time gpa etc.
Asta
Exactly. It is a common misconception that U of C only looks at the best 2 years. I am in a similar situation to you. I am hoping that the strong upward goes over well.
