er90
I am studying organic chemistry and am going through spectroscopy. Just curious if anyone has actually had this on their real MCAT. i.e. IR or NMR questions in regards to just regurgitating what the frequency is for a certain bond. Thanks! JB.
It was on the free practise test on the AAMC website. I think spectroscopy was given along with other info to help identify a compound. They also asked about proton NMR (how many peaks you would see) for a certain compound.

IR is a high yield topic on the MCAT. So is NMR. Know them! (there's almost always at least one question on IR - and yes, its usually just rote memorization of which frequencies correspond to which functional groups)
