Canadians as under-represented minorities (URM) when applying to US?

Recommended Posts

Assume I am African Canadian (or any other URM) and I applying to US med schools. Even though I am Canadian, I should be considered URM, correct?

Don't the Canadians go through the exact same application cycle as Americans do? I heard to confirm that you are an URM, you just checkmark the box that asks you about it.

Any insight on this would be very much appreciated! :)

As far as I remember somewhere in the application where there was detailed explanation who can be considered as URM, it was specifically saying that u have to be US citizen or permanent resident two be included in special pool. Let us know if it is otherwise:) maybe you can also indicate ru URM status somewhere in secondaries....

Unfortunately, you can't apply as a URM unless you are a US Citizen.
