Guest muchdutch
Hey all, I heard that the U of A was implementing a new weighting system for their academic and non-academic requirements for who will get an interview for the 2007 application cycle. Does anybody know anything about this or the exact numbers?
Guest muchdutch
This is the previous weighting (2005 and before cycle): The process used for calculating the rank score for applicants is as follows: Cumulative average of university years: 10% (approx.) Prerequisite course 25% (approx.) MCAT 15% (approx.) Interview 25% (approx.) Personal attributes 15% (approx.) Reference letters 5% (approx.) MCAT writing sample 5% (approx.) And this is what I found out: The new weighting is: CGPA 15 PGPA 15 MCAT 15 MCAT Writing Sample 05 Personal Attributes 20 Interview 25 Reference Letters 05 So a bit more on the cGPA but a substantial amount of less weighting on the pre-req GPA. And a bit more on the personal attributes. Closer to a chool like Calgary's rating, no? Personally, this is good news for me. I don't have the most stellar pre-req GPA but my cumulative is much better and I think my personal attributes are good so I'm hoping I'll have a better chance with this weighting system. Comments? Guest HP
I like the shift to more personal factors. I wonder if it means they'll re-design the personal attributes section of the application?
