Guest retep86
Does anyone know exactly how many practice tests are officially released by the AAMC? I've seen people selling #1-8, while others advertised for 3R-9R. I checked the practice website and they indicate the numbers as 3R-6R, 7-9 (with no "R" following the number). Is there also more than one version (revised perhaps?) for each numbered test? Can someone help me to clear up this confusion? Thanks
Guest piratefan
I'm pretty sure that the "R" does stand for revised. The AAMC made some major changes to the MCAT around 2003, and the earlier practice tests have since been modified to reflect these differences. That said, if you're only going to be buying a few, definitely start out with the most recent (ie 7-9), as they're supposed to be the most representative of the actual MCAT as it'll exist in Aug '06. (DO NOT buy the non-revised earlier versions... you'll find that they are very different from the later ones.) Good luck, pf
