Degree Difficulty (UofOttawa)

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone,

I was reading over the eligibility criteria on Ottawa's website and came across this little blurb:

"Furthermore, in selecting students, the Admissions Committee reserves the right to assess, in the applicant's program, the level of difficulty of completed courses and their relevance to future medical studies at the University of Ottawa"

I know that like most Canadian medical schools, Ottawa states that they require a bachelor's degree from ANY discipline. I was just interested in what other people, including those who were accepted into Ottawa med, thought about this aspect of Ottawa's admissions. Is this something people should worry about pre-interview or is it something that may not come up at all.

I don't think you should worry much about that especially if you are at the point of applying to med school this cycle. I know at uOttawa, students come from variety of backgrounds: basic sciences, social sciences, health sciences, economics, engineering..etc.
