Hi, jus wondering if anyone had any advice as to what to read to boost the knowledge base required for some of the writing sample prompts, more specifically the topics dealing with politics or international issues.

What are some good magazines to read, or anyone have any links to websites where such info can be found?

Thx.

Reading the newspaper and watching the news on TV should be sufficient if you're looking to keep up with current issues. Reading TIME magazine may also help.

Try to have prepared "topics" for as many general areas of questions that you can....eg. a question about 'leadership" could involve gandhi v/s saddam or something to that effect...so prepare general examples from a wide variety of areas (eg. sports, business, economy, politics etc.) and then copy and paste your examples to the topic given, with appropriate adjustments.

Sincerely,

PFO

Register for free at the star, globe and mail and NY Times (the sunday edition is very good). The washington post is good too. Watch the news. And make sure you know what you're talking about, especially with reference to well-known historical facts.

I"m taking the PR course and they've given us a list of pre-course reading material which they suggest would be helpful to prepare. For those of you who read some of these books, did you find it useful?

The list is pretty long, so i was wondering if you guys have had personaly experience with some that were especially useful
