Dan88
Hi guys. A newcomer here. I would like to hear your opinions on my chances of getting accepted into american medical schools. my stats are Cgpa: 3.78 (last two years 3.91) MCAT: 1st 32 (12 ps 9 v 11 bs), 2nd 33 (12ps 9v 12bs) Ec: nothing spectacular really. 1 year of shadowing, 1 year of research + poster presentation( no pub), 3 years of various community and clinical volunteer experience, club exec, intramural basketball league champion, some part time jobs here and there.. My original plan was to apply to canadian med schools that only look at last two years such as UWO, Queens, but 9 in verbal shot that down.. Now I am in a self diagnosis mode to see what options I have available. Any suggestions, pointers are welcome. P.s I am thinking of taking MCAT again (sigh)in coming January in the hopes of raising that verbal score. But I heard from someone that american schools are not too fond of multiple tries on MCAT. Will taking MCAT for the third time be a bad idea? Thank you
advair250
If you apply smart and early, you should be solid for the US. W.R.T retries, you're first attempts are above 30, so at this point, unless you get 36+, its probably not worth it. 33 is solid, and your sciences are strong. I wouldn't risk dropping.
