French Stream cutoff requirement

Recommended Posts

What is the requirement for applying to French stream? Do I have to have attended French-speaking institutions, or can I apply as long as my french is good enough to read, write, and converse?

Also, what is the GPA cutoff for French stream applicants?

The requirements are:

1. Meet the minimum wGPA

2. Have strong ECs

3. Have completed the pre-req courses

4. Have 'conversational french' skills.

There are no specific requirements w.r.t. previously attending a french university. It would serve you well to be as strong in french as possible, but the test are the same for the two streams. So, you could go to all the French classes and then write the test in English if you really wanted. (Except the written portion)

I am in the anglophone stream, so I am not sure what the wGPA for the French stream was last year. My impression is that you are at about 3.8-3.85 or above you should be academically "there", but it changes every year.
