tothestars
Are you sure all of the universities you're applying to accept Canadians? University of Louisville doesn't.
hex000000
You need to do a lot more research on this, as evidenced by your list. Applying broadly means 20-30 schools. #1 and 3 are historically black colleges. A lot of the schools you have do not take international students (you are international if you don't have US citizenship or permanent residency status). Thankfully, some U.S. schools are partial to Canadians vs other internationals. You need to start with the lists in the stickied thread in this forum, I preferred the second list (scroll down): http://www.premed101.com/forums/showthread.php?t=19065 Then exclude them based on GPA and MCAT percentiles, using MSAR (you can also filter by schools that take internationals in MSAR, but this will be a much larger list). You should check for each school in MSAR to see really how many international students eventually matriculated there, some schools are basically not worth it. You need to look at the requirements each school has; NYMC requires a non-science LOR, I don't have this so I held off on applying there and I'm seeing if I can get a waiver. This is my list below, I have a slightly lower GPA, but strong upward trend and a 36 MCAT. Your MCAT is a bit low, and the distribution of your MCAT matters also. You should probably retake it, but you should probably see what others say or have said here or on studentdoctor.net, I'm not an expert on this. I also have a research MSc and hope that will matter to research schools which is why I have Case Western etc. on there, you may want to take those off first(Hell I doubt it will do me any good but I'm trying anyway). Albert Einstein College of Medicine Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine Central Michigan University College of Medicine Columbia University College of P & S Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth George Washington University Sch of Med & Hlth Sci Georgetown University School of Medicine Jefferson Medical Coll. of Thomas Jefferson Univ. gobigorgohome
You need to read some of these other threads in this forum. Some of these schools won't even accept your application. Apply to the Canadian-friendly schools with lower MCAT averages!
