bruhh
I really don't like creating new threads but I'm getting stressed over all of these admission stuff recently. I can't even concentrate lately because I am always thinking of Medical School, every day! lol. I have already asked before about my chances for Canadian Medical Schools and I have found that my first year GPA is fortunately foregiven for almost all med schools. My first year GPA which is 2.78 (OMSAS), 2.94 (AMCAS) is almost entirely made up of science courses, also mostly prerequisites. I think my sGPA would be even worse (around 2.5) My 2nd year GPA is 4.0 (AMCAS) and 3rd year is looking to be a 4.0 as well. At this rate, if I apply at the end of 3rd year I would have a ~3.65 AMCAS GPA and at the end of 4th year I would have a ~3.75 GPA. My sGPA will not be that different however, since I am a non-science undergrad. Haven't done the MCAT yet but I will be spending the entire summer + late spring prepping, so I'm hoping for at least a 33 on it. Should I not even bother for American Schools? I don't really mind since I prefer living in Canada, but if I have a chance it would be great to at least know. My EC's are decent. no research yet (I will be doing some in the upcoming winter), but I have managerial experience (HR/etc) in non-profit fields (I managed an entire project of community festivals in 10 different cities, recruited employees/volunteers/participants, etc)) and I have leadership qualities represented in a lot of my EC's. I guess the American system is more foregiving if they see the potential in you. Although a 43 MCAT is extremely rare so it is still quite different from my case.
