Guest moo
In general 3 credits (a half year course that meets three hours a week) is 3 semester hours. However, courses with labs are four semester hours. This varies from school to school in Canada too. I know UBC for instance recently changed it so that if you take for example, biology, you get 3 credits for the lecture component and 1 credit for the lab component. It used to be only 3 credits for lecture and lab.
Guest Madz25
If you have 0.5/1.0 credits for a half/full course at your university, then just put down 0.5 or 1.0 depending on the weight of the course. Don't worry about the semester hours conversion. I called AMCAS about that and that's what they told me to do. It all worked out fine and my AMCAS GPA ended up being the same as my UofT GPA. Hope this helps. Madz
