wellwhen
Hi guys, I'm currently doing my PhD and considering applying to Canadian dental schools. Unfortunately, my publication track is not great ( No first author papers so far; one second author paper and a book chapter contribution with my supervisor). I'm wondering how useful my PhD would be if I don't pursue the further research training required to be a clinician/dentist (post doc training). Are university lecturer positions competitive and would a PhD with few publications suffice? What other options, other than tenure rack professorship, would my PhD offer? Ostracized
If your PhD is in a dental field then you might be able to look into academic dentistry jobs. If your PhD is in another field then probably not.
