Focused
Hello all! I will be starting med school next fall, and was wondering if it would be helpful to pursue a Masters in basic science (adipose tissue metabolism/type II diabetes) through a MD/MSc degree for residency applications... I am not sure of the specialty I would like to pursue (internal med (oncology/endocrinology), radiology, pathology maybe??). Where could I find more information? Would a Masters in clinical science be better suited? Also, would it harm my application if I ultimately decide to do family medicine, ob/gyn or a surgical specialty (which seem much more unrelated to basic sciences)? I also really enjoy fundamental research and am just evaluating my options here... thank you!
Wachaa
Not necessary at all. You can choose to do it later in residency/ fellowship if applicable.
