OBS elective in downtown TO?

Hey Guys - I'm interested in pursuing a 2 week OBS elective in Toronto this spring - are there any preceptors that would be recommended?

What exactly were you hoping to do? Just the L+D floor? You might have some difficulty getting an elective at Sinai or St Mike's because they are usually pretty saturated with clerks. I would try contacting the Obs clerkship admin person at each hospital and find out what the process is for visiting elective students.

Thanks for getting back to me about all this. Yes, labour and delivery is what I'm looking at. Do you think L&D will be saturated with clerks as well?

I can't speak for St Mike's but at Sinai there were always 2 clerks on call at any one time (one for each team - high risk and low risk), plus sometimes a junior resident (and always a senior resident). Honestly I hated the L&D floor at Sinai, it totally turned me off doing obs. I did an L&D elective at North York which was good, but also pretty full of clerks and R1s. Maybe check out TEGH or St Joe's.
